What is WordPress Website Management?
WordPress website management is a precursor to SEO. Before you can start trying to rank for certain keywords, get backlinks ect, it’s important that your website be optimized for speed, for UI, and for search engines.
A non-optimized website can hinder your SEO efforts.
How can WordPress website management help put your business on the map?
To understand how Website management can put your business on the map, it’s important to understand what SEO is and how SEO can help your business.

This is the map. It represents the internet marketplace. To get on the map, and subsequently on Main St, you’ll need to care for your website, the same way you would care for your storefront.
What is SEO?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is a process by which web developers optimize the content on a website, to increase the chances that a website appears higher in search engine pages.
This definition is a technical definition, and it can be hard for some business owners to understand. So, we decided to create this graphic to explain SEO using a physical marketplace analogy.
This graph shows a marketplace. This marketplace represents the internet. In this (internet) marketplace, your website is your storefront, because it is one of your biggest and most important marketing assets.
How well maintained and optimized this digital asset is, greatly influences where it gets located in the marketplace.
Most customers (90%) who come to this market spend their time on main street. For this analogy, main street is the first page of Google.
The further away your storefront is from main street, the less foot traffic you will get, and the fewer potential customers you will get in and out of your store.
Why SEO matters
Using this analogy, it’s easier to see why SEO matters. In the internet marketplace, ensuring you have a website, and that your website is optimized puts your business closer and closer to main street, where most of the customers are.
Doing so increases the number of potential customers you will get in and out of your store, and therefore increases your chances of making a sale and growing your business online.
How can WordPress website management help?
Keeping with the marketplace and storefront analogy, website management is like keeping your store clean, tidy, and friendly, to increase your chances of making a sale when a customer walks in.
If SEO (getting your store to main street) gets potential customers through your door, website management helps turn potential customers into buyers.
From a technical standpoint, website management involves keeping your website up-to-date, secure, optimized for performance and optimized for search engines.
Doing so reduces your chances of losing customers to slow website speed, unsecure pages, or unoptimized content.

FAQ’s

Why does my small business need SEO?
Before we answer the question as to whether your business needs SEO or not, let’s consider this question: Do basketball players really need basketball shoes to compete at the highest level?
Technically, they don’t.
Some athletes could play bare-footed or use sandals. Doing so however, would put those athletes at a severe disadvantage, compared to those wearing the best basketball shoes.
So, does your small business need SEO? Technically, no. But ignoring SEO could put your business at a serious disadvantage compared to businesses who are using SEO as part of their digital marketing strategies.
How do we do SEO?
To understand how we do SEO, it’s important to remember that we work primarily with small business owners. It’s also important to remember that SEO is complex and encompasses many different digital marketing categories and topics.
Since we mainly work with small business owners, and since they tend to be in the beginning stages of SEO, we currently only offer on-page SEO, which is usually enough for small business owners just getting started with digital marketing.
We offer on-page SEO services as part of our Wordpress Website Management services.
You can get on-page SEO services either with our Gold plan or Platinum Plan.
With the Gold Plan, you’re in charge of telling us what keyword you’d like to rank for, and we will make recommendations for some content edits, as well as help you with the content edits.
With the Platinum plan, we’ll do keyword research on your behalf, to identify what keyword are more valuable for a business in your industry. Then we will make recommendations for content edits or implement the content changes ourselves.
Why focus on Wordpress Website Management?
We focus on website management because our main SEO focus is on-page SEO.
On-page SEO deals with changing the content of a website to increase the chances, while off-page SEO deals with activities such as link building, which don’t require changing the content of the website.
To put it in words that are easier to understand, let’s use the storefront/marketplace as an analogy once more.
As you already know, SEO is everything you do to get your business’ storefront to be located on main street.
In this example, on-page SEO would be everything you do inside of your store to help move it to main street. This would include things like keeping your store clean & tidy, and making sure your staff is always friendly.
Off-page SEO would be everything you do outside of your store, such as contacting the marketplace owners to negotiate moving you to main street.
What kind of SEO tactics do we use?
We only use white-hat SEO tactics.
At Brandwell Studio, we believe in integrity and long term success. Black hat SEO tactics can get you traffic fast but are bad for long term success.
White-hat SEO tactics take longer but are more long lasting.
Black hat SEO tactics are like eating McDonalds EVERYDAY. It feels good in the moment, but there are long term negative effects from it.
White-hat SEO is like eating healthier. It doesn’t always feel good in the moment (we all know how awful those salads can be), but it offers long lasting positive results.
